Dude, thats in my reading textbook, I think. 0_0 Its supposedly the german version of cinderella, and its called "Ashtenputchel" (or at least I remember how its spelled. its been quite a while since I looked at the the title.) We never read it as a class... come to think of it, we havent opened it since we read "Three Skeleton Key"... I think thats the only story we've read in there, actually...

i like how more recently people try to put dark spins of fairy tales and stuff and think they're all original when that's how they started off

Brier Rose is the more appropriate one and Sun, Moon, and Talia is the inappropriate one. Both are pretty gorey, though.

There's also the matter of length, since the story has to be able to fit about 100-120 minutes.

Actually, the original Snow White wasn't really as dark as most others.
