It is actually possible to access Mesh with Scratch 1.4. I found a scratch project explaining how to do it. http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/MathWizz/849173

Is that because of the new limit on internet usage starting in March (by rogers at least)?

Sounds great! The idea behind Scratch 2.0 sounds very interesting. I hope the proposal for Scratch 2.0 will win. *fingers crossed*

Cool picture! I'm not sure if it would necessarily be that big, but it seems pretty nice.

I think making scratch web-based is a great idea,as it will allow things we couldn't previously make like high-score boards or playing against someone online.Would there be a whole new section of "Web" blocks in 2.0? Which brings me to my next point. Although allowing scratch to be online based is a great idea,I would still like to see some new programming ideas. There have been several posts asking for new blocks, but it seems like the scratch team has ignored them.

Why is there a micro-sized stage button?

It's possible we might do it that way. Ease of use is really really important to us, because we want to make sure that people with no experience programming can dive in to Scratch really quickly.

Sorry, Brass45 - we've been super busy! I'll try to keep with new block requests better in the future.

will that mean that the games made can be saved as flash? Or is it just been made in flash.

I think instead of Java for viewing projects it's going to be Flash.

Yay! Flash player! Now I can finally play Scratch projects on my Wii! (The Wii supports Flash)

One of the reasons I think this would be nice, is because it would be nice for Chromium OS. For those who don't know, Chromium OS is an Operating System based on Google Chrome, in which there are basically no programs, when when you start your computer up, it automatically goes to the browser, which is its main feature. This makes it a lot faster, and nothing is saved on your computer - all of the data is saved online. Without this, I couldn't be able to use Chromium, because of my hobby with Scratch. Scratch is just about the only program I use anyways, other than a browser

Actually,Chromium OS is supposed to be able to save downloaded files to the browser and open them as a new tab(so i've heard).

Nice artical.Scratch online should be interesting. Will it be some big java application or something?
Our current plan is to make the editor and the player using Flash (like YouTube and ClubPenguin, among others). This is not final though.
flash player instead of that sucky old java applet? YESS!!!!!

I have some ideas. http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Billybob-Mario/663430 For the internet block, a pop-up thing could appear asking to go to a specific webpage. Also, the screen size should be changeable, and sounds should be able to be started from any point, or maybe even sped up or slowed down.

So will there, or will there not be a 1.5 if your simply going to 2.0?

Apparently they're gonna skip to 2.0
Or scratch team, you can pretend that every 1.4 beta was another version ^.^
