Why wouldn't it? Unless you plan on download the Ebook for free, because it just doesn't work that way.

I know right?? when I tried to download an MP-3 version of a song i needed for a project, iTunes kept blocking it.

Actually its legal to download a torrent of something that you already own, a movie or CD or whatever.

All I said is that I can't find any proof of that, and that much is true. If you'd be willing to provide some sort of conclusive evidence, I'll be more than willing to believe you. 

My policy on piracy is as follows:
Say you pirate/torrent something. If you pirate it just to try it out, like it, and then buy it, then you're okay. Same if you pirate an extra copy of something you've already bought. If you /don't/ like said pirated item, then there's no harm done because you probably would have never bought it anyways. If you like it but don't pay for it, you're a crook.

Not sure how this fits legally, but whatever.

I'm pretty sure it's not legal to do with music either, though it's generally regarded as something fine by moral standards, just like downloading a ROM of an old game you already bought.

Therefore, downloading an E-Book version of a book you own may or may not be legal in your country, but depending on what you think, may be morally fine.
