Re: Summer of Scratch Collab

I'll try to get people by advertising on my games.

Re: Summer of Scratch Collab

I've decided we should disband.  It would be too much work to recruit everyone, and I have other stuff to do.

Do you think I could get a copy of the source code for the site (obviously without the current login details)?

For next summer, we can try advertising for in-between.  Also we can start earlier in the summer.

I have to go somewhere now, so no time for brainstorming, but I'll be back later today.

Re: Summer of Scratch Collab

It will require a bit more set up, because I did set things up manually, so it'd be pretty complicated to give you the source code. Plus I was actually thinking about selling it for a cheap price (not with the files or backgrounds or anything obviously lol), because I think I could probably do that. Not sure if I'd have any luck selling on Scratch, though, so I'd probably make a page for setting it up if I distribute it--where the admin can choose their preferences like the files allowed for upload, etc.
If you insist, I can probably get you a copy of it, but unless you set up the databases correctly it won't work.

I'm pretty sure I will be back next summer and able to host the site for you if that's something you're worried about.

I'll add a "download all" button for you ASAP (shouldn't take more than about 20 minutes but if it does, so be it).

Re: Summer of Scratch Collab

I suppose I should make my own page then, and I'll try to make it cleaner.  I should be able to host next summer, but it is good that you can just in case.

I've downloaded and archived all the projects.

Now for advertising, how should we go about that?

EDIT: Also, we will need a good introduction for next year.  I'm not very good at that  sad .

What do you mean by an introduction? I'm probably no good either LOL.

EDIT: I've disabled the uploading system.

EDIT2: I added an account registration and deletion system that only admins can use. I also made logins a lot more secure, but unfortunately had to change all passwords back to what they were originally in the process, so log in with your old password and change it back. Sorry about that!

Re: Summer of Scratch Collab

Something for other people to know what the collab is about, for the first post.  (or linked too on the first post.)

Re: Summer of Scratch Collab

zuwel, although we are pretty much dead until next year for programming, we can still discuss the storyline.  There are a couple fill-ins to be made.

Re: Summer of Scratch Collab

Looks like my site got taken down before I had the chance to make a new backup.

Thank goodness there's any backup at all...but that's rather upsetting, as I had made quite a few changes.

I guess I was wrong about my host not caring, after all.  hmm

EDIT: NEVERMIND! The server was just down! The site is still there!! Woohoo! Made a new back up  big_smile
