a simple easy to work with physics engine with ultra-realistic physics, a feature length smooth animation with a good plot and everything from scratch including the music, even an actual working mmorpg.
give me one of those and ill be satisfied

do one if those in scratch then we shall talk again - those projects, except for animations, are pretty much impossible in scratch -.-

actually i saw a pretty good 1s 1s physics engine featured once (but, unfortunately, it was  by no means simple) and erkstock claims to be working on an mmo type game so hopefully my wishes should soon be granted

This is getting a bit off topic.

I agree. (and no, it's not with erkstock). But 777w has a good point, you don't see my MMO on the front-page. The front-page is solely a popularlity contest, as far as the community slots go. The curator slot is all about tastes, which is often inapplicable to many projects that deserve to be front-paged. Although, one point I have to say is, that this issue arises with any that's based off of a democracy-like system. Can't say it could really be fixed (and featured slots, well...they just don't cut it for most Scratchers with bizarre tastes)

the featured projects are pretty good usually but yeah everything else you said is pretty much true
i dont even blame the creators of the projects; its the communitys fault really

I somewhat agree. The most-viewed is usually a slosh of updates/text-only projects made by popular users. The most loved, however, is where the good projects go.

However, it is still possible to get on the most-viewed without being famous first. You just need to do the right things.

Different people love different things.

Lets not single projects out on the forums.

i try not to but in this case it was necessary
im fine with the project and its existence but not with the fact its on the front page. and if front-paged projects arent very good quality then many serious people looking for a place to program games or animations may very well leave without a second thought

Its never necessary. If you feel you are too "serious" for this community, go ahead and go somewhere else.

I found the animation funny.

Let's end this thread of discussion now, its going somewhere I'd rather it not travel.

Re: Ok, soo...

If I get some of the team back together, I can revive a project that's rather relevant to this: The Other-Front-Page Looks similar to the Scratch homepage, with one difference--featured projects, curators, SDS, etc. are ordinary Scratchers.

Support! That would be awesome! I think there should also be a nominations thread on the forums for that!

Just a side note, but coolhogs? Have you seen the new mockup? If so, could you please put it in the OP if you like it?
