I see a lot of people necropost. A lot of them are new scratchers who simply don't know the rules/taboos.
I think that when you post a reply, if the last reply is over a month old there should be a popup. It would say something along these lines: "This last activity on this topic is over a month ago. Posting on old topics is known as "necroposting" and is frowned upon by the community. Would you still like to reply? Yes/No". I think this would drastically reduce necropost incidents, without having to impose great restriction.
You would be able to disable the popup if you choose so.
Stickied topics are exempt, but those never go a month without posts anyways.

I like this idea! But it was already discussed in this older topic. Let's continue the discussion over there, if you don't mind.
Ironically, it's been over two years since anybody posted on that topic. But it wouldn't be necroposting, since the issue is still very much relevant.
