It isn't hard to find gunpowder. Even if you can't get it raw, you can get out of the exploding part of a firework (the gunpowder in the lift/rocket part burns too slow).

This sounds like a cool (but hard to do right) project. However, ignoring the possibility that the gun blows up in your face, a 2000x scope sounds impossible. tongue
