Get time in timezone []

I propose a new block, get time in timezone [TMZ v] (Note that TMZ is used as an example timezone). The block would include a dropdown which includes all of (or a majority of) the timezones. This dropdown should also accept reporters  This would be beneficial for games that require a clock.

Re: Get time in timezone []

It would be easier, especially to a new scratcher, to get the local timezone.

The default option for the dropdown could be

<time in timezone [local v]>

I suppose, but someone could add the local time to a cloud list, which could be considered personal information. BTW, does that mean you support?

Re: Get time in timezone []

I support this idea, I just don't think the timezone idea would work (well). The Scratcher/player should input the timezone, and the programmer should make scripts for conversion (like have the block return time in a standardized timezone, such as UTC)

I'm not entirely sure what you mean, could you explain?

Re: Get time in timezone []

I think it would be better to be a get time block, without the timezone part (have it either in local time or something standardized, like UTC or Scratch Time [UTC-5, or EST])

Re: Get time in timezone []

What would you use it for? Besides just getting the time, like an actual application of it.

If it becomes reality, I'd use it for a virtual world in which there are activities that happen at exact times.
