I have recently visited, and support the occupy flash movement!. This thread is about http://occupyflash.org. Feel free to discuss by replying.
What is it?
It's mission is to rid the world of the flash plugin. It makes the web inaccessible. It also says on the website,
We're sure there are plenty of good uses for it, such as building great Air applications, for example. In fact, Adobe has stated they believe HTML5 is the future of web browsing. We're simply trying to help them get there a little faster
Why?
It makes the web inaccessible. For a full explanation of it, visit occupyflash.org!
How to support?
Remove availability to flash on all of your websites. I even have a petition on my account to remove flash as an option on scratch. The other, and final way, is to remove it from your system/browser.
Remove it from windows
Remove it from mac
remove it from linux
disable it on google chrome!
watch videos on youtube without flash!

not about the website itself. the last one was a petition, and was in making and creating. this one is about the website. Why do you think IOS devices don't have support for flash? Because of how close-minded adobe is, steve jobs got mad, and did not have availability for it.

Flash makes the web less accessible. At this point, it's holding back the web.

It introduces some scary security and privacy issues by way of Flash cookies.

I am totally not doing this. Flash is wayyyyyyy faster. And if I unistall it, I won't be able to watch projects in 2.0.

Why, you ask? Why does it matter, when Adobe has already neutered the platform by publicly killing Flash on mobile devices? Why does it matter when HTML5 has clearly won the fight for the future of our web browsing? Well, as we've seen with other outdated web technologies (most notably the much-lamented Internet Explorer 6), as long as software is installed on machines, there will be a contingent of decision makers who mandate its use, and there will be a requirement of continued support, the plugin will live on, and folks will continue to develop for it. Also, for unknown reasons, Adobe is still sticking with Flash as a desktop browsing technology.

which is why if everyone does it, the scratch team will notice their mistake and switch it. When 2.0 comes, I'm probably going to have to quit because I'm not using flash under any circumstances. Until HTML5 becomes an option, I will not use scratch.

what is the basis for that statement?
what makes html5 any better than flash?

who knows what the application could sneak into your web browser, and eventually your computer?

That sounds a bit drastic. Wouldn't they have to entirely reprogram the new Scratch in HTML5? It seems like much more work than it's worth.

theyve already developed it so much i doubt theyd just suddenly "switch it"

if youre going to put it that way then i suppose we should get rid of the internet altogether since if you dont have like antivirus software this is a constant risk

if you disable flash, there's one less thing to worry about.

They may not switch it. They may be so close to finishing it.

i took a look at the 5 reasons and it seems my idea that it was apples fault was, in a way, correct

then shame on the scratch team for choosing flash.
