The world is scheduled to run out of bandwidth

I know I said I would not post on the forums unless it had to do with Scratch and when I made some new projects, but I felt like this was important.

It is predicted that the whole world will run out of bandwidth by 2014.

Re: The world is scheduled to run out of bandwidth

I think you mean that the world will run out of IPv4 addresses, and that will be fixed with IPv6.

You may want to look at this article: http://www.techdirt.com/articles/200905 … 4720.shtml

In other words, that article is made up.

Re: The world is scheduled to run out of bandwidth

One simply doesn't run out of bandwidth, there's nothing really limiting that.

Re: The world is scheduled to run out of bandwidth

My goodness, news articles on the internet these days.

This kind of reminds me of the fear surrounding dihydrogen monoxide, except it feels more like propaganda to jack up internet prices.  hmm

Haha, interesting comparison. Gotta check multiple sources before you believe something on the Internet.

However, this was mentioned in a lot of places.
My favorite was Fox News, who I learned can get away with lying because they're an entertainment business, not news, despite the fact that it says "Fox News" in their name.

Haha, I used to think anything shown on TV was real (A common 7-year-old belief) and true, but later learned that much of it is untrue and just used to promote or help their own company even at the cost of hurting others not in their business.

It's funny, I once watched American Idol and later found out that all their guest singers were from Fox News, which hosts American Idol. All of the other singers (which were better than the ones who performed) weren't allowed to come. Everything is about them and their money.  hmm

Yeah, it's all about money, isn't it?

Someone once thought I knew everything and asked me if I knew the root cause of all the problems in the world. I thought for a second and said: "money".

I had a conversation with a little kid ('bout 8 years old) and I said that money was causing so many problems. Then he said "Why can't we just make more money so everyone has more?" which unfortunately wouldn't work. Then he suggested we completely slashed the value of money, and just used a cooperation system. But when I got to thinking, money is motivation to people, which is necissary to keep any sort of civilization alive. It's difficult to solve.  hmm

What a stupid world, right?

Anyway, let's get back to the original topic (which, ironically, has to do with this - see what cheddargirl said).

Not stupid enough to overcome your motivation.

I wish I could keep my IPv4 address... IPv6 seems more complicated...

And what this about bandwidth? I think you mean IP addresses because ISPs can just make more bandwidth.

Would these world problems decrease if we do what Star Trek does? Get rid of the currency system and make it to wear you get things through hard work or something like that.
