Foundation and Empire

I'm just about done with the first three books in the Foundation series. I was wondering if anyone here has read other Foundation books and what you thought of them.

Is Prelude to Foundation or Foundation Earth (for example) worth reading?

I haven't read any of them. Which book is the first book in the series?

Foundation
Foundation and Empire
Second Foundation

written by:  Isaac Asimov

These three books are considered one of the best sci-fi books ever written. I just haven't heard anything about the other books that were written later.
