Require a password when deleting project

If you leave your computer on, and a friend thinks it'd be funny to delete a project of yours, it'd be pretty dang annoying. I think when you delete a project, it should prompt you for a password, and then only delete it if the password is entered correctly.

Re: Require a password when deleting project

I think it's pretty much common sense to just log out of Scratch/your computer when you're not using it and will be away for a while.

I've had tough consequences of leaving my computer logged on before, and I've been very careful ever since.

Common sense is probably actually uncommon nowadays.

Plus, I would log out if I'd be gone for a while. I'm talking abou popping upstairs to get something and then coming back straight away.

Either way, it's better to be safe than sorry.

Not only that, but say some troll (i have no idea why a troll would concentrate on a non-profit site like this, but oh well) wants your password, and lures you to a site that steals your cookies (XSS), so now that person can log in as you.  That person could then delete your projects without ever knowing your passsword

Oh, so I support

I know that you can always log out when you're not on the website, but I do think password confirmation would make plenty of Scratchers feel safer  tongue  Support!

Re: Require a password when deleting project

I do't support because if someone guessed your password to get in your accoutn they would use it to delete the proejcts anyway. If you can set the deletion password different than your account password, i will supprot.

It still adds security.

It would still be good to have though, in case the example I used happened, or someone managed to access your cookies and therefore your hashed password, as SJRCS_011 said.

That's a good idea.  It's definitely something that I could see happening  to myself.

Seriously just log out. I don't think I should have to login every time I delete a project.

You'd just have to enter your password as a safety measure. It's a pretty common occurrence, so I think that it should be implemented
