I just recently went into a 5 Below store and noticed this NES controller replica for 5 bucks, made for the PC. It said it was "compatible on most software" or something similar to that. So does that mean it would work in Scratch? should I take the chance? Discuss times that you bought hardware similar to this.
If this fits better in another topic, go ahead and move it. I wasn't sure.

I doubt Nintendo approves of it, and it won't work with Scratch. Nothing that SELLS works with Scratch.

well, I was thinking that maybe the d pad on the controller was the arrow keys on the computer when connected, and the jump was like the space bar, because the product didn't list what it was compatible with.

Well I'm sure that if it works with GlovePIE or AutoHotKey, it will work with anything.
EDIT: What OS have you got?

Lol Vista... (I shouldn't be laughing... I got Windows 8 and I am stuck with it until I reinstall my boot loader
)
Did you go into Control Panel and then Add Devices and Printers?

If anything, you could write drivers for it, I suppose.

You shouldn't really need that -- if you know some python, I'm sure you can connect the device's port to the python script and use it as an intermediary to Scratch.
Chances are the device will not work with Scratch by itself (unless it really does map its buttons as keys, in which case even Windows itself will work with it)
If it's only five dollars, I would go ahead and buy it for the fun of trying, but if you don't have money to spare be aware of the fact that you will not get it to work with your projects.
