Cloud Variable Notification

Imagine you were viewing a project in 2.0, for example a remix of my Password Strength Calculator (see sig). What if that person had made it save your password on cloud storage and everyone could see it? That would be bad.

I think the amount of cloud variables should be displayed at the side of the post with the amount of sprites and scripts. That way we would know if a project was saving whatever we put into a variable into cloud storage.

Re: Cloud Variable Notification

I agree. That would be very useful to the privacy of other Scratchers. Passwords are very important, and shouldn't be used for greedy purposes.

Re: Cloud Variable Notification

Cloud variables, while a wonderful, have many possible troublemaking uses. A warning would be good.

Re: Cloud Variable Notification

Hmmm...I like the idea of giving a warning but not in the form of a distracting message. How about some text on the side by the text that displays the amount of sprites and scripts? That wouldn't be distracting but it would be there for those who care.

People don't always look at that, though.   Anyway, I support.

That is quite true.

I support this.

I think the warning should show up like the "This project needs to access your microphone" warning thing. If you accept, the cloud data is available for you. If you deny, the cloud data will not be used for you but you get to play the game anyways.

I'm going to make a mock-up of my ideas for this.

Re: Cloud Variable Notification

I think the cloud list should just change to a regular one (for that user) if the user doesn't want it activated.

doesn't say I support this suggestion in the way your suggesting it. I just suggested you use an alternate warning method instead, I don't support a pop up.

I know, but you're still supporting the idea, aren't you? Just not the way I suggested it. I'll put the idea of a warning at the side in the first post.  smile  Should I take your name off the supporters list?
