I'm considering getting one in the future. Only thing that bothers me, after watching videos of some, is that there seems to be no way of figuring out where exactly are you drawing. I'm pretty sure many artists around here are used to tablets so I'm asking, is it too hard to get used to that in particular?
(I figured MaC would be the best place to ask this, though I'm not truely making or creating anything.)

If you're using a normal tablet, then it's not so hard after you get used to it. If it's set up right, then the tablet corresponds to the screen, like a grid (so if your tablet is on the corner of the tablet thingy, then your cursor will be in the corner of the screen).
You could get something like a Cintiq, which is like a tablet but has a screen on it so you can see what you're doing directly, but they cost a lot

It's near impossible.

G-ZUS DISAGREES.
HE FINDS IT MUCH EASIER TO GENERATE HIGH-QUALITY DRAWINGS BECAUSE OF THE FACT THAT IT IS MUCH MORE SIMILAR TO A REAL PEN, ESPECIALLY WITH THE AID OF PRESSURE SENSITIVITY.
G-ZUS IS NOT AMUSED WITH THE FACT THAT HE CANNOT PUT SO MANY RAINBOWS INTO ONE POST.

It's practically impossible to read and there's also supposed to be a filter to prevent all caps but he's managed to circumvent it do to bbcode.

it's pretty easy to read and i don't think he specifically tried to "circumvent it", it's just that the filter takes into account the letters in the [color] tags

Not particularly, no. And I speak for everyone when I say that.
Also, listen to triple-seven-double-u.

this topic is not about making and creating rainbow text, i suggest you talk about drawing with a tablet instead

GOOD POINT OLD CHAP.
G-ZUS THINKS THAT TABLETS ARE MUCH EASIER TO USE BECAUSE THEY DO NOT MAKE AS MANY "JERKY" MOVEMENTS, AS WHEN COMPARED TO A REGULAR LASER MOUSE.
ALSO, WITH MANY TABLETS, THE STYLUS COMES EQUIPPED WITH A VARIETY OF CUSTOMIZABLE BUTTONS THAT CAN BE SET TO MATCH YOUR DRAWING NEEDS.
IN SHORT, G-ZUS LIKES TABLETS.

Yeah dude, please stop.
we're talking about TABLETS
i've had a tablet for quite a while, the pressure sensitivity gets to be really useful and tilt sensitivity is a thing, although i haven't used it yet. one of the things i like about them the most is that they don't account for acceleration the way a computer mouse would.
most cheap (affordable) tablets are the kind where the drawing surface is completely blank, so you have to look at the screen to see where the pointer is. it's a little awkward at first, but it's very easy to get used to. basically, use it a bunch and you'll get used to it in no time

Uh, yeah.
you were bringing up the topic of rainbow text again so he had to specify
back on topic everyone, back on topic

Yes, the pressure sensitivity must also be pretty useful. Lineweight makes a pretty big difference when drawing in paper, I suppose pressure sensitivity would give the same effect drawing with a tablet.

Oh, I didn't think of it that way.
Yes, ideally I would use a tablet with a display of sorts, but obviously that's way out of my budget and I'm not even near a good artist, so even if I had the money, the investment would probably not be worth it.
So basically, one just gets used to it and it's not that much of a problem. Thank you all
