I just transfered the old data from my Wii to the Wii U. Instead of a bland loading bar, Nintendo showed a little animation of Pikmin running around and carrying my save data to my Wii U, like on 3DS data transfers. And I'm not sure if it was the music or the one purple Pikmin that was almost stranded on the Wii planet, but I started tearing up in the middle of it. It was like I was saying goodbye to my Wii and thanking it for all the good memories I've had with it.
Here's the animation, by the way. The first part is recorded on the Wii and the second part is on the Wii U.

I feel like waving anything Wii U-related in their faces and going like "HELLO?! DOES THIS NOT LOOK AWESOME?!"
So buy it with your own money. Why do they matter in the slightest? If anything it's better that they don't care; you have it all to yourself that way.

Ranking the Nintendo Land games I've played from best to worst:
-Metroid Blast
-Zelda Battle Quest
-Luigi's Ghost Mansion (best with 3+ players, with 2 it's unbalanced towards the ghost)
-Animal Crossing Sweet Day
-Mario Chase
-Donkey Kong's Crash Course

I've only tried Pikmin, so that. I'll do some more after I get home tomorrow.

What was worse is that it had an error at the end and I had to talk to a clueless Nintendo Representative on the phone, but I fixed it anyway,

I'm 11. By the time I make $350, the Wii U will probably be old news. I was actually hoping for it as a Christmas present but I was pretty much told straightforward "no way."

If you want a Wii U, sell some stuff and put it towards buying it.

If you're not going to care about it for a long time, it's really not a good idea for a purchase.
And I'm 12, only one year older and I managed to get enough money to get a Wii U (granted my parents contributed $100 to it because it had Netflix and Amazon Instant Video, but I was able to afford it before that). It's really not that hard; save up Christmas and birthday cash, do work around the house, get a decent allowance, do jobs in the neighborhood. At your age, it shouldn't be very hard to get that money.
