Solid ground?

Im making a game kinda like *red*. Where you jump through obsticals. Well im drawing my obstical in the background. How do i make it where my guy can stand on certain stuff? I thought it could have to do with if X color is touching X color?

Re: Solid ground?

Not neccessarily. You could do that, but it's been discovered that sprite sensing is more effective, if you want to make a single sprite for the walls, and then one for the ground, and any other effects you need.

Re: Solid ground?

Well, you could do the background, but color sensing isn't quite as effective. It still works, and it might be easier, but things still have a tendency to not register immediately in color sensing.

Re: Solid ground?

An example of the background, or the sprite sensing? I already told you the sprite sensing in your other topic.
