That article fails to mention how dihydrogen monoxide reacts with carbon dioxide to form carbonic acid; the slight burning sensation we feel when we drink carbonated drinks like soda is caused by the effects carbonic acid, which is formed from the dihydrogen monoxide and carbon dioxide gas in the soda bottle. Goes to show you how dangerous dihydrogen monoxide can be in beverages - now we have to worry about acid formation in products using dihydrogen monoxide! Gotta love the dihydrogen monoxide hoax. And carbonic acid isn't as scary as I make it out to be, it's quite harmless. The more you know http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-carbonic-acid.htm.
You forgot to put the period with the coloring.
the point is that you can tell that there is hidden text...
Yep yep. Although I would imagine the super huge blank space at the end would also be another clue.
On a side note, this is why learning science and doing research is important, the unknown can cause fear at times when it's totally unnecessary. I could easily tell someone that I formed a 25 mL of a dihydrogen monoxide and carbonic acid solution in my home laboratory and, on a whim, decided to drink it. Technically, I wouldn't be lying, but in reality: the statement is exaggerated, all I did was leave a glass of water standing out for a day in a warm kitchen for a few hours.

Unnecessary? UNNECESSARY? Are you telling me that you would fearlessly dive into an ocean with weights tied to your feet?

I can't quite tell if that is supposed to be a joke or a blatant attack of what I wrote.

80% joke, 19.5% question, 0.5% attack.

My science teacher went on a rant all day in class about a week ago... had everyone fooled, and then told us it was water the next day.

Um, this is about hoaxes, not ways to kill millions of people or even dihydrogen monoxide.

I've always felt like topics should be allowed to go off on a tangent as long as it was naturally approached via earlier discussion based on the topic paragraph.
