UPDATE!
I made a server Here's what I'm thinking:
I'll probably get three or four of you first, and then if our mud starts to grow, I'll get more people to help out. If you want to help, just let me know, and I'll add you to the list. When I get three people who want to help (Not including me), I'll start a topic about it, and we can plan about it. Sound good? Also, I'll be using coffee mud, so if you know how to use that, I could REALLY REALLY REALLY use your help. Also, I'm having some trouble port forwarding, so if anyone could help me with that, that would be great! For some reason, I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.
If your name is on the list, and you don't want to help, let me know!
Helpers:
G0D_M0D3
XenoK
Dinoclor
I have been really enjoying Muds (Multi User DungeonS), which are sort of like mmotbg's (massively multiplayer online text based games) . The reason I'm asking, is because I was thinking of making a mud, that scratchers could play, and also create. This would be a pretty big project, and I wouldn't want to start it unless there a several people, who would like to help out in this. Also, I hear they are pretty hard to make, so if anyone wants to do the technical stuff in this, that would be great. If I get enough volunteers, I'll open up another topic about it.
I sorta know how to make a mud, I just don't understand the instructions on how to edit it Check out coffeemud codebase If you think you can handle it.

Never played one, but I'm good at writing text-based adventures. Is it something like that?
Yep, but a lot of times it has a bit of multiplayer in it as well. You should look into them. One of the most popular one is called Aardwolf. This is more of a text based rpg, then an adventure game. Your player has things like HP, Mana, Dexterity ect. that can change when you battle monsters. You can also gain money to but items to help pyou.

That's what I mean. I didn't mean like a 'choose what to do' I mean exactly like Aardwolf (I played a little bit)

Yep! If I can get someone to help set all this up, do you want to help out?

I've played one mmotbg (Improbable Island) but have never played a Mud. They sound cool.

I'd say any text-based game is a thing of the past (as in, not mainstream, popular anymore), but there are quite a bit of people still interested and playing them. Myself I've never liked text-based adventures, but I'm sure some Scratchers would like them.

I like them but I can't sign up for one because they all need your name >_>
Enter your name, than. No big deal.
Whenever I have to enter my full name, I go:
[real first name]
Not tellin'
and they accept it! They only call you by your first name, anyways.

Anyways, I can get started writing a short code in scratch. It'll use a list, so it can't be too hard to get the list to a website and use just a scratch input (for now, until we figure it out). I can change the scratch client, delete the scripting area, get rid of the block area, the buttons, and everything but the stage. Then, put help screen textboxes. Sound good? I'm good with modding scratch; I've already edited mine to have the stage in the middle so it's in direct line of sight. That's what I'd like to do for this.

@Dinoclor: I usually just put my real first name, and fake last name, or both fake.
@G0D_M0D3: I was thinking of making an actual mud, and not in scratch...
I just found my new favorite mud. I've been playing in for around three days straight.
Check it out! I'm nimfle on there btw. Let me know who you are if you try it out.

Whenever I sign up for things at need my name I either use my first name + "skittles" or "your mother" as my names lol.
Edit: unless they are something I trust, like Apple or something. Even Google doesn't know my last name (I think...)

RuneScape used to be a MUD.

Once Scratch 2.0 is released, I wonder if I can morph http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/BoltBait/1516358 from a single player adventure game into a multi-user adventure game.
Should be interesting.

@ScratchDude101: Really? I think I've read that somewhere too. Very interesting.
@BoltBait: I really don't want to do this in scratch. It's slow, and hard for non scratchers to connect. I have a legit telnet mud set up, that people will be able to connect to as soon as I port forward.
I just need three people to start helping, and I'll open up a new topic where we can discuss the mud, and I can give out the IP to connect.
