Re: The Walruses - A Beatles Tribute Band on Scratch

I just listened to the stuff you sent, jji, and it's admittingly some impressive work.  big_smile

Your voice does seem like it will fit John's songs well, and your guitar for Yesterday will work great if we'll be able to remove some of the background noise. Meanwhile, though we probably won't be using it in the final mix, your guitar part for the intro of "You Never Give Me Your Money" does sound rather nice - almost gives the song a flamenco feeling.

Once again, some awesome stuff.  big_smile

Meanwhile, it seems like our sigs are working - we've had a lot of people signing up recently! Speaking of which, let's hope wolvesstar97 can send in her drum track by tomorrow or maybe Monday.

I was afraid my voice wasn't up for it CD

Flamenco is one of my favourite guitar styles so I am speechless  big_smile

Nah, I'm pretty sure your voice will sound fine in the final mix.

And yeah, I really like flamenco guitar, too - one of my favorite styles of acoustic guitar playing.  big_smile

lol  If wolvesstar97 ends up being our drummer, we should give her a nickname to go with that.  tongue

Also, I haven't received word recently on her progress with the audition tape, but I'm pretty sure she's working on it.

We don't need tuba, but are you a big fan of The Beatles? How good are you at bass guitar?

I think he meant playing Paul's parts in the tuba.

Oh. Well, if you can't do bass for the medley, I guess we can ask him to to play it on the tuba for us. I wonder how it'll sound though. And I'm not convinced it'll work out.  hmm

Erm. I'm not really sure how it will sound when Paul's bass parts are played through a tuba. It would certainly be something new.  tongue  But still, we probably want to do the songs as accurately as possible. Maybe, though, if we ever do a song that implements the tuba, I'll turn to you.  smile

Yeah, exactly what I thought, though if it is passed through some VSTs and pre-amp sims, it may work out with a few pitch changes. But I'm definitely not up for the idea.

We really need a bass guitarist now.

Seems like jji got bored with the Walruses sig.  tongue

It's fine, because I'll probably be walking around with it for a while.

@wolves - Great! Thanks for notifying us on your progress.  big_smile
