Sounds like the classic "if they'll buy it, we'll sell it" situation.
If something gets popular like this, the American way is to go crazy with it, making movies collectables, plush toys and stuff for it just so they can make money. Ahem, Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja and Justin Beiber. I'd be curious to see how many Fruit Ninja plush toys actually get solled, but apparently enough to keep selling them.
I've heard of Annoying Orange but have never had the curiousness to actually watch the videos. Probably good.

the thing is, with youtube stuff, people's expectations are lower, so they end up liking it more. When you take a youtube show and broadcast it on TV, people's expectations are higher and the same show seems less impressive, even though it's the same show.
either that or the channel hires writers for the show that ruin it
