Yes! Please help! I started making a game, and I have no idea what the point of the game will be.
Anyways, here is my post for it.

Here are some ideas:
First, maybe every once in a while if a enemy is shot, they will drop a weapon better or different than yours, with different properties, etc. Second, maybe you could have limited "power bombs", powered by the space-bar. Third, maybe your attacker could gain money. I already like the idea.

Hmm. Here are some ideas:
1. insert health bonuses
2. like I suggested to Firedrake969, maybe some enemies will drop weapons better than yours that you can pick up and use.
3. you could add in other bonuses too, like limited "double jumps", food to increase speed a tiny bit, etc.
I think the key to a good game like yours and others are levels levels levels. Good work, keep it up!

Like you, I find it hard to come up with a good point for a game. I think the story could be something like: BatFace (or any other good bat name) was just a poor, bat slave, who served the main emperor. But from the time he was a baby he knew this was unfair, and secretly raided the emperor's cave. It's your job to fly away, taking every bonus you can get, avoiding the emperor's growing search party for you, and grow more in power until you can rightfully claim the cave rock (throne) and be emperor of BatLand!
Try to come up with a story, like that or use that. I can tell that with a point the game will be great. I am going to post another post to help with level design. Have fun creating!

Hello, coolhogs!
Before you get into the ideas, you should probably come up with a topic or topics you're interested in, e.g. action games, or strategy games. Next, think about the story or method. For now, it doesn't matter if the idea's random or dumb. As you go along it's likely that your idea will develop. And random, fantastical ideas are oftentimes the most interesting.
Post if this isn't working, is working, ideas you're getting, or questions for further help. I love doing this! Scratch away!

About the level design request. I would put a status bar on the top-left corner, with health, food, speed, or other variables and scores you want to show. On the top-right corner, I might put something like a Pause, Help, Settings button. Create a main menu, too. Players like when you can go back to levels you left off on, rather than replaying the game. These are just regular level design techniques I've noticed from many online game. If this is not what you requested along with my other reply, or you have a question, just post!

Wow, I'm quite happy with these requests! Even though this is sort of reverse, thanks for asking your questions, guys! If you have a question later than 7:30, it will likely be answered the next day.
