Re: ([variable]) block

I like this idea!  If I understand correctly, it's about the variable reporter blocks, which you use to output the value of a variable to another block.

Right now, there are separate blocks for each variable.  If you want to change out a variable somewhere in your program, you have to pull out the variable reporter and replace it with a new one.

The suggestion is to make the variable reporter blocks have drop-down menus, so you could change between variables.  This would be handy.  Another possibility would be to make it so you can change using a right-click menu (like the arithmetic blocks for +, -, *, /), but that would be inconsistent with the other variable blocks.

Is that what you meant?

Re: ([variable]) block

It would be a good idea... But how would you check/uncheck the little boxes? You'd only be able to have one variable displayed...

Re: ([variable]) block

It would also make the dragging of the blocks harder.

maybe like this example:
it would show up like this

[]  (variable)
[]  (variable)

When you Drag it into the place you want it,it would switch to ([variable^]).

[] are checkboxes

If you hold it down you could pick it up and when you quickly click it the thing pops up.

Oh. I always thought it wouldn't drag that way.
