Re: Scratch 2.0 Alpha

what annoys me is that Comic Sans is "trendy".

When this gets released all the noobs will be using it and making awful noises.

at least it never crashes when I try to load an incompatable .mp3 sound.

Yes, thought the ST wouldn't implement workaroundable blocks?

forever if <[list v] contains [something]>
move (10) steps
if on edge, bounce
end

Re: Scratch 2.0 Alpha

What I really DONT like is that they're making it for little-er kids now. With the easy to remember fonts and the DREADFUL simplistic colours, don't get me started on that the vector drawing is now no longer pixel friendly.

When I first heard they were implementing Vector-based drawing, I was wooting with excitement,.
Once I used it...
Completely different story.

This is why I'd stick to Importing Costumes from other Programs. eg: Paint.NET.

Where do you put the script?

I should really learn javascript

if you're using firefox, use the web console and enter it. this may take some time to find. it's in tools (if you can't see the tools tab, hit alt) under web developer.

I'm using IE8, I went there, pressed F12, clicked "Script" then "Console" then entered the javascript in the lower right. It said "Access is denied." Here's what it looks like. Thanks!

Maybe they should include a bitmap editor in it too, then convert the inputted image to a vector format. That way pixels won't go missing when you shrink it and pixels won't make random formations when increased in size.

It took a long while for me to realize Shift-Click opened up the "right click" menu.

I hope creating a parse function isn't a waste of 2.0's resources.  tongue

then ie8 likely won't let you do it
you'll have to use another browser

also you could try it without the javascript: prefix

Re: Scratch 2.0 Alpha

I just have three comments on 2.0:

The time appears to be extracted from my computer. Shouldn't it be Scratch time?

and, why can't we click on a block to get it's readout?

P.S. int is exaclty like floor! why?!?!

I just found that scratch2.tk links to the 2.0 editor, and no javascript required.

Re: Scratch 2.0 Alpha

not a big fan of the new paint editor...I might just use Scratch 1.4 to paint, save a project full of sprites, and then open it with 2.0.  cool

If you Shift+Click the More menu, you can save a copy of the language file.
