Re: What do you think of the Scratch 2.0 Prototype?

Hey scratch team, can i suggest something for the scratch website? (well two things, actually) Going with the theme of the updated site for 2.0, maybe there should be a chat feature? I'm in a few Role-Plays, and it's kinda annoying to have to refresh every few seconds to see a reply/new comment. Also a PM system would be cool, like for a collab to send someone the password for a project so they could test it out.

... A collab project isn't against the rules, i'm pretty sure the scratch team supports collabs.

And what's wrong with chat? I think it'd be cool to be able to be on a SAFE website that has chat.

the scratch team has declined chat before because of its dificulty to moderate.

pm isn't allowed for the same reason

Re: What do you think of the Scratch 2.0 Prototype?

When I opened my project onto it and tried to play it, it was really slow.. (it's not slow on Scratch 1.4)

But I guess it is because the prototype is new.

Custom values and booleans (predicates) as well as value and boolean inputs for blocks.

Actualy, cou can add parameters (number, string, or boolean) to a block you've created, although way to do it is somewhat "hidden". First, create a block, then right-click on the block definition hat to add parameters.

Currently, you cannot create a block that returns a value (i.e. you cannot create "function" or "reporter" block). We're considering adding that in a future release.

Scratch, when will 2.0 be on school computers? Scratch is ALLOWED to be downloaded on our school computers, but only 1.4. Will 2.0 ever come to our computers?

Yes, 2.0 will run on school computers, as long as they have Flash.

This is temporary. The database the alpha is running on is mainly from January, with 2.0 projects added.

Re: What do you think of the Scratch 2.0 Prototype?

you should add a make variable block:

make variable [Epic] with the value [999999999]
