Scratch 2.0 sounds awesome! Well,to me at least. There are a lot of people worrying about people taking their art or animations without permission or credit though. What if there were a feature where you could "lock" projects? (where you can't take things from a locked project.) IDK, I don't really care if people use my animations, but there are many people out there that do.

I don't really like the website layout. It doesn't remind me of Scratch.

same here. There should be an option to stick with this design, and with the classic default java player.

I don't care, I like it the way it is.

I just want to be able to use the 1.4 site, and make projects with that, instead of using new features that can be accomplished by using mods. The new one looks wayyy too much like twitter and facebook.

after as long as I waited for scratch 2.0, I have come to the conclusion that I'm really not looking forward to it. I had taken a two year break, and when I came back, the website was pretty much already halfway ruined with the addition of the flash player. And that was all that was new, after 2 years of waiting, they only added the flash player that I don't even use!
and the new blocks, aren't really all that different.

How is the flash player "ruining the site?" I like it.

As a web designer, i typically find flash to be quite... Limiting. In order for a site to reach absolute perfection (in a way), it must follow the pillars of web design. One of those, is accessibility. A vast majority of browsers run on mobile devices now, and do not support flash, and is therefore cutting off support from a lot of your visitors. To please a wider range of audience, make it accessible to all users, instead of forcing them to run only on a specific device/os/web browser.

It's really easy to switch back to the Java player, which admittedly doesn't run on some mobile devices either. It's not like the whole website is in Flash, and even Scratch 2.0 will have a downloadable version.
I guess it could be where there would be an option between the old site and the new one.

Okay, one, I'd disagree with a few things you said. The "vast majority of browsers" don't run on mobile devices, though I do agree the amount is very high and increasing. Also, many of those mobile browsers support the Flash plugin (although that is decreasing as well as Adobe is stopping support for mobile Flash).
Also, there's no solution that works for all computers. They'd have to do some sort of combination of HTML5/Javascript with a Flash fallback, because there are many older browsers that don't support the <canvas> tag, but that do support the Flash platform. If they just did HTML5, they'd still be leaving a ton of users out. Think of the poor misinformed people still using Internet Explorer 6!

With the cloud feature, will you be able to save people's game data so that if they exit out of the Internet and come back on, they will be able to play from where they left off?it doesnt remember your ip or stuff automaticly but you can make a code with lists and do a manual save and load
just check out one of my projects
And you can actually make chatrooms on projects with lists!

Yes. Of course. However, I think one ST member said the forums would be different but our posts will remain intact.

Weather WILL NOT WORK as it is different for all places. The time blocks work because it is taken from the computer's clock.
