I've heard of a typo in one version that was, well, disastrous. It's probably the same one.
In the Ten Commandants?? If it is, we're thinking of the same thing.

Yeah, that was it. Not sure how the proofreader let that one slip....

I'm reading through the Bible, and I'm in Ezra. Try reading Leviticus and Numbers without dosing off . Didyou know that Biblical proof of the Silk Road exists? While researching the Silk Road for a speech, I found that "King Xerxes sent out messengers to India and Asia".

Cool! I know what you mean about Leviticus and Numbers , I'm just glad that we don't have to memorize the whole thing! I can't imagine how the priests did it...

I read Revelations a few weeks ago... Its pretty interesting.... And scary!
I hope this doesn't get topic isn't taken off... But I can kind of understand why it could be...

Revelation is my favorite! I love reading about what happens after everything!

Ehh, it's quite interesting. I'm in no way a Christian, I just find the stories... Fascinating, I guess. Is it... I dunno - immoral or something - to enjoy the Bible when you're not a Christian...?

I don't guess it would be immoral...to non-believers, it's just a book, I don't guess that would be immoral to like a book. I don't think so anyway...

I started reading one.
I had to put it down right away. I didn't understand.
I also went to church once. Didn't like that, either. He flicked water in my face, talked for an hour, and then we sang.
I have opinions, and these were my best.
Though I do have to say the first (what I think is) chapter was good. Maybe I'll skim through the rest.
Yes, the bible can be hard to understand. But certain books are harder than others, or just seem to have random things or things that don't matter. Some good books are proverbs(very straight-forward and simple), revelations(sometimes can be confusing), and books that are written by prophets to cities and places, like james and jonah.
I hope this helps, if you want, you can start reading in those places.

I know! Its great! I also really like the teaching by james macdonald on it by walk in the word...

Yeah, it's just that since pretty much everyone who reads it voluntarily (e.g. not forced to in school) is a Christian, I thought it might be frowned upon to read it if you're not a Christian.

No, of course not. Plenty of people who aren't Christian read the Bible. It's fine to do that.

It's totally fine to read the bible if your not a Christian. If you don't understand things in it feel encouraged to look it up online or go to church.

Something fascinating about the Bible, which not many people know about, is it's amazing scientific accuracy. For instance, here's what Job 26:7 says: "He is stretching out the north over the empty place, Hanging the earth upon nothing." Notice that last bit. "Hanging the earth upon nothing." Not on the back of a tortoise or whatever, like many people believed. But, quite rightly, hanging upon nothing. The fact that that scripture, something written thousands of years ago, says something like that, is just one of the reasons I believe the Bible is divinely inspired.

I'll admit that some of the old testament is... a little weird. But the overall message of the New Testament is really something to inspire to match. Loving your neighbor as yourself is worthy advice no matter your religion. No matter the atrocities committed in the name of Christianity, to over-arching theme of universal love it admirable.

not to be offensive or nothin, but please refrain from phrases like this, they may lead to religous debates which are against the community guidelines

Yeah, I was kind of wondering whether or not I should have added that. But still, it's an interesting point.
