Hmmm... Just thinking, there should be some customization. For what you look like. It'll only be one more variable per person: not much. Something to think about, how are we gonna do sensing if someone is on or not. This is gonna be kinda' complicated, because there won't be a server, just direct communication, so we can't have some of the communication powers. At least nobody can just edit their project to make them an admin or anything.
We are doing that.

A question about customization and such- are we going to use clones of one sprite to become a user? And how do we create local copy locations that dont make other people move to the same location?
So, I was picturing for customization of sprites, a costume for each of the colors, then have clothes sprites just go to the clone?
Like, for example:
if <(clothes or whatnot) = [true]> show switch to costume [pants-1 v] go to [cloned user sprite v] endAnd then just change the costume centers of the clothes sprites to line up.

What's the name of our collab?
Is it officially Square1/Square2?
I like Square2, because 'square one' means the beginning, and logically, 'square two' would be finished projects.

Thanks for updating, do you know what exactly are you planning for a project?

Currently, we're making a virtual world called Scratch Club. You will get to add friends, go from room to room, communicate with word bubbles or in a private chat, and make your own house. Your avatar will be a scratch cat or gobo, and you will get to change its color to customize it. All its information will be stored in cloud variables and lists that other people's users will read so they will show up on the screen correctly.

Well, this is how we were going to design it:
There would be a set of cloud variables for each user, saying it's x, y, color, and scratch cat/gobo.
There would also be a cloud list for each room with all the users currently in the room on it
When somebody joins (the list grows by 1), the user sprite will clone itself and read the cloud variables saying the info about that user. When that user leaves, the sprite will delete itself.
You would also get to make your own house, with a max of 10 furniture items. there would be cloud variables (item costume, x/y) and a cloud list for the items, and a sprite would clone itself however many times and switch to the costume of the item.

Has it been confirmed that there are cloud lists?

So, I just quickly whipped up some background music. Just see what you think. It should be uploaded here, and it is also submitted to be in the Scratch Resources. Honestly, I'm really open to what you guys are looking for (happy, sad, gentle, harsh, etc.) and I'm open to criticism (as I said, this isn't exactly a master work).
Edit: It's worth noting that it is supposed to be repeat-able (that's why it ends on the leading tone xD ).

I'm guessing that it's supposed to be happy/calm background music, as this is an MMO.
Nice job, though!
I think that that music is perfect.

Eh, I guess you can put me down for background music. I'll just have to make some time (should be easier with AP Exams ending).
If you're interested, this could potentially be used too. Unfortunately I've reached my limit of 5 songs, so if anyone could name a free music-hosting site that protects music under creative commons, that would be great.

you people seem really busy, but could you just stop and notice my comment once?
I would like to join this collab under the programming section in scripting. I am pretty experienced and have been using Scratch for about half a year. I am excited to help and the current game idea sounds really good! Programming is my expertise but I could also help with music if needed, but MoreGamesNow seems to have that department under control. So could I please join? I am very excited to help out.
