Wrong. The Wii runs Flash - AND java, since I have successfully played a youtube video on it AND played a java game on it. So, Scratch Alpha can be run on the Wii if you have the Internet Channel.

Will it feature a faster cycle rate? Will it allow parameters to be passed to custom blocks like byob? Will it allow the creation of custom predicates and values too? If the answers to these questions are no..................

why not? It keeps the same old features and adds new ones. You don't have to use the new ones if you don't want, but i really like it!

Yes, just like Scratch 1.4 and every other scratch version.
Or, from what I've heard, it will be online, but will still require downloading data.
