Hello! I'm new here, and I'm excited for the Scratch 2.0 release. I also can't wait to become a "Scratcher" and stop being a "New Scratcher". I am happy with 1.4, and excited for 2.0 at the same time. I can't wait until Thursday for the prototype.
One question: Will we be able to download Scratch 2.0 during the four day period?

It's not so much a release as a preview - it's still got a ways to go before it's finished. As for downloading...no, there is not yet a downloadable version. It only runs on a browser online at this point.

False.
At the speed of light, everything stops around you, past the speed of light, hypothetically, you travel back in time, and can see things happening backwards, and the faster past the speed of light you go, the faster things happen backwards, and therefore, the faster you go back in time. By traveling at or past the speed of light you are only lengthening your wait For the Scratch 2.0 prototype because you are respectively stopping time, or going back in time. It is for this reason, that some scientists say if we could time travel, you would only be able to go back.
To make the wait feel/be shorter, just tough it out, and keep yourself occupied with other activities. Some scientists claim that all humans experience the flow of time differently. So, since it is measured as the same amount, some of us might have to wait longer than others.Doesn't relativity say that time at higher speeds moves slower? If I move at near the speed of light, what is only one second for me would equate to minutes/hours on earth. Therefore, doesn't going near the speed of light make the wait seem shorter? Or am I mixed up?
If you go faster then time would probobaly go backwards
If you go near the speed of light, time slows down so every second you experience is an hour on earth (so you go forwards in time). If you go at the speed of light, time stops alltogether. If you go faster than light (impossible), time actually runs backwards, so you go back in time.

Can't wait for the ☁ variables!
I'm going to use the ☁ variables and the motion sensing in a game :3

Try travelling at the speed of light! That effectively makes time pass incredibly fast
False.

By traveling at or past the speed of light you are only lengthening your wait For the Scratch 2.0 prototype because you are respectively stopping time, or going back in time. And traveling backwards at the speed of light has the same effect because you are still, in fact, traveling at the speed of light. It is for this reason, that some scientists say if we could time travel, you would only be able to go back.

I completely disagree with that statement because everyone is traveling forward in time.

I have a question. If you share a project on alpha.scratch.mit.edu, will it be accessible on your profile page on this site, and if so, will the exclusive features work?

You can introduce yourself in New Scratchers. Also, you didn't have to post thrice.

They won't appear on this site, no. I'm not sure whether if you upload a project to the alpha site it'll be on this site when 2.0's fully released or not though - that's an interesting question.

No. Anyways, users won't be able to save and share projects made in the alpha.
Also, the database will be overwritten, so even official projects made will have to be remade.
