Hi everyone,
Scratch Day is a worldwide network of gatherings, where people come together to meet other Scratchers, share projects and experiences, and learn more about Scratch. We hope that you'll be able to attend an event near you (explore the map at http://day.scratch.mit.edu) -- or that you'll celebrate Scratch Day and Scratch's fifth birthday with others in the online community.
As a part of Scratch Day celebrations around the world, the current prototype of Scratch 2.0 will be publicly available from May 17 through May 21 -- and you can check out some of the new features in this preview video.
Just visit alpha.scratch.mit.edu between May 17 and May 21 to explore the current version of the prototype and give feedback about your experiences!
Happy Scratch Day!
Karen, on behalf of the MIT Scratch Team and Scratch Day Teamit would be awesome if the time would be bigger like until june first
+1, or just until they come out with the next version.

I can't wait for it to come out! The old scratch projects will still work in this newer version, right?
Yep, I'm pretty sure all of your older projects will work. However, projects made with Scratch 2.0 will not be able to be played in Scratch 1.4.

If you'd read the thread, you'd know it's not ready yet.

Will the stored variables online show up imediatley, or do you have to reset the page/project?
If they show automatically, people may use this to create online multiplayer games! Wouldn't that be cool?

2 things: Does that mean that the final version of Scratch 2.0 will be coming out soon?
How did 14 pages come in less than 24 hours?

This seems amazing, I really like the idea of the cloud variables, always wanted it. Maybe you guys should make user cloud variables which are like cloud variables except for a certain user so you can make a level game and after the user quits, he can go back to the level he was on!!

i have just witnessed an amazing video.
My mind is going a million different directions with the cloud variables thing.
You could do SO MANY THINGS with that.
As a hint to what im thinking of, let me show you this script:when gf clicked forever set [x and y v] to <(x position) join (y position)> endMan, this whole cloud thing has SO much potential...
I agree! There's a lot of possibilities.
