presented to school

Hi, im a seasoned programmer (10 years C#) and today I took the opportunity to teach a 30 min intro to Scratch, followed by a 60 minute lab practical at my sons school. I found it really interesting to see how the kids used scratch. I gave away a couple of Scatch T Shirts at the end. I gave the presentation some context in terms of technology around us and job growth for these 11 and 12 year olds. I hope to run a couple more classes in future and focus on some more examples and how to perform other basic actions. Pair programming worked out well for the kids and they were very engaged, even though it was a long session. Im very glad that MIT made this great tool. It made my job fun. I hope we can go on and form a small programming and robotics club.
