Cant Upload Says Files To Big when its a simple project

I cant upload and its a simple project and there is no way it has 10 MB because the music file is  1261 kb

I though 1000kb was 10mb? Maybe not...

i think 1024 kb is 1 mb

No, wouldn't 1024kb be 1.024mb? Because they're based off of bits, not bytes. I don't know much about computer memory...

Lanie, it sounds like some trial and error might help narrow down what is causing the problem.  One test is to share a different project just to double check that your connection and username/password as typed into the Scratch app. are good.  I know you are logging in to post here, but its still a good idea to start there.

Then you might try saving a different version of your project without the music clip, and see if you can share that.  If that still doesn't help you could delete one stack of scripts at a time and keep trying to share after each one (BUT, again, be sure to keep a copy of your original version).

Check the size of the file on your computer itself. In Windows the default location for Scratch files is in C:\Program Files\Scratch\Projects

Here is what always works for me: click the box that says "compress sounds and images" so it's off. it always works for me!!!! hope it helped! ^_^

1024 kb is 1mb
1024 mb is 1gb

The byte system is based off a 2 the power of X...1024 is 2 to the tenth power.
