Quite recently, several Twitter users have been subject to phishing attempts.
If you receive a direct message along the lines of 'Hello this person has been posting bad things about you [link]' or 'OMG laughing at this picture of you my friend found [link]', do NOT click the link.
It will most likely take you to a phishing site asking you to re-enter your username and password since your session has 'timed out'.

Or, just check the URL of the page before you enter your details, which you probably should do anyway.

A lot of people here are. If you count 13 as the Twitter age (which I do in my head) but there's no age verification thingy on there.
