Steps to creating open-source software:
1. Write some software
2. Release the source code and make it open for use.
3. ???
4. Prof - ...oh wait.
That looks pretty interesting. The link to the PDF is broken though.

It's interesting that this book was written by someone who worked on the famous SVN project.
