Yeah. To add to it all, a bunch of sigs stopped working.

And, the Scratch team hasn't replied to my email yet.
They usually take at least a day, in my experience.

Thinking... Thinking... ... IDEA! We could make a new scratchR.org, I will add all of my albums when I'm done. I can find some backgrounds, etc.
It's a nice idea, and you could certainly go ahead and create your own website, but I think it's simpler to wait for the domain to re renewed and to use the backgrounds and code we already have for Scratch Resources and the Block Library already!
Gasp! What if the SQL actually works on blocks.scratchr.org after the renewal?!?!?!?!

Won't the server still be configured exactly the same, though?

Don't use 000WebHost. I've heard tons of stories of websites being suspended for no reason (including my own).
I recommend 1FreeHosting.

It can depend. I've never had a problem with them.

I hope you know your sig is broken.

No wonder my sig was broken D:

Status update: I got word that we are planning on renewing the domain - but it might take a couple of days. That's all the information I have at this point.

Thanks for the info, Paddle. Glad to hear that.

Well, aren't you all glad I noticed that before something bad happened?
Btw, Mod Share is working fine again, so I can put away the possible plans to use ScratchR.org for Mod Share. (turned out LS just changed some passwords
)

Wait a minute, guys, does this mean scratch is officially 5 years old?! Or just that domain?
Just that domain.
Also, domains aren't always registered in 5 year terms. I register mine on 1 year terms.
EDIT: Yay! This is my 300th post!

Andres is supposed to look into it.
When a domain gets renewed, does all the data (files, DBs) come back?

Well, from what I saw, it was hosted with DreamHost, and the domain was with GoDaddy, so probably (I think the domain and host are separate, so DreamHost doesn't care about the domain).
And, still no reply from the Scratch team...

That's because the ScratchR that runs the site is hosted somewhere on scratch.mit.edu. I think scratchr.org is supposed to be documentation, and also hosting for other Scratch-related stuff.
