Some people like Stone Temple Pilots, but I like to say that I FREAKING LOVE THE STONE TEMPLE PILOTS.
Early on, they sounded exactly like Pearl Jam, and I was biased against their music, thinking it was Pearl Jam, which I hate. Turns out, Stone Temple Pilots is about 600 times better than Pearl Jam, and my dad owns all of their albums.
Profit.
Discuss STP here.

I have listened to both, and like both, but STP is a "Pearl Jam Copyband" along with Daughtry, Staind, and like five other popular bands

Oh, yes, Stone Temple Pilots are great. Well, to be honest, I've only listened to their more grunge-based earlier material, but I've heard they've gotten better recently, with a wider array of musical influences. I'll take a listen to their recent material sometime. Can somebody reccomend a good album by them to listen to?
I also have the song "Plush" in my computer's music library.

Absolute "Pearl Jam Copyband." Just so happens to be a lot better than them.

actually STP has a more arena style sound as opposed to Pearl Jam's Mother Love Bone-borne grunge sound.

Sort of mimics Eddie Vedder's style though, even though I really thing he shouldn't have, as I don't like Eddie's voice myself.

Yeah, they haven't gotten really, really different, but Scott Weiland has sort of gone away from always impersonating Eddie Vedder, and not all of the songs are very grungy. It's still all hard rock. Have you just listened to Core or did you also hear some of the songs on Purple? If not, maybe Interstate Love Song is a bot of a change, but not really, and you've probably heard it. Some different ones are Sour Girl and Trippin' on a Hole in a Paper Heart. They made a new album in 2010 but I haven't heard it yet. I need to make a trip to the record store.

I like Eddie Vedder's voice. It sounds kind of rustic and throaty

I don't really like it; my personal opinion is that he gravels up his voice and puts in "blarararghs" to try and hide the stupid lyrics.

I played a song by them on Guitar Hero.
It was pretty good.

I'm listening to "Take a Load Off" off their newest album, right now. It's very different. It's barely even grunge anymore. It's sort of a genguine alt-rock sound. And Scott Weiland sounds completely different. I really like this.

I heard "Between the Lines," and I didn't like how he kept referencing when they "used to do drugs." I think that bands start becoming old timers when they recall items about the past.
