I guess my question is, if non-benders are so "repressed" and benders are, essentially, aristocrats, why are the brothers so impoverished?

I don't think that non-benders are repressed economically, they just feel like they are treated unfairly because they can't compete in the bending sports and they can't defend themselves against bending thieves like the triple threats.

Why blame all benders for the misuse of powers from 3 people?

Isn't the triple threat a big gang of a bunch of groups of three people, though?

And there's the fact that all of the members of the city council are benders (or, at least, wear the colors of green, red, and blue).

There is also that the only police force is made entirely out of benders (I realize that non-benders would be less effective, but I'm just pointing out the inequality here; besides, chi-blockers seem more able than most benders anyway).

their eyes are the color of their element too.  It's really wierd.  I also think korra knows who amon really is...

On a totally different topic: no avatar state yet?  Since Korra hasn't mastered the "spiritual side" of being avatar, I assume she hasn't opened her chakras (spelling?) yet, and I guess there hasn't really been an "emotion + danger" scenario (or am I forgetting something really obvious?).  Be kind of weird if she went into the avatar state in a pro-bending match xD

Good point! I completely forgot about the avatar state!

My favorite character was the cabbage guy (not my cabbages!). I'm glad they made a reference to him in LoK with cabbage corp (not my cabbage corp.!).

I find that it is better than the sequel series. The sequel needs someone like sokka because it isn't funny enough
