I'm not sure I agree that Mako is modeled off of Zuko, or that Korra is modeled off of Katara.  Korra and Katara are both water benders from the southern water tribe, but that is pretty much where the similarity ends.  I found Zuko to be far more conflicted, angry, and driven than Mako.

The Bolin/Sokka connection is dead on though

What's so terrible about new characters? I think it would be kind of boring if it was just a continuation of the old one, considering it was pretty much tied up with the finale.

Now that I've seen 3 episodes, I've reconsidered.

I really like Jinora, Ikki, and Meelo. And of course Bolin, the new Sokka.
But about the permanent no bending stuff, I don't believe it.

And Amon's minions won't be as good as Ty Lee.

I can't tell if Ikki is a boy or a girl.

same exact thing happened to me. my parents wouldn't let me watch avatar that much because sometimes they talked about kissing and all and my parents are strict. thats why i record every new show that comes out.

I hope they go back to the bending arena. Those are my favorite parts! Episode 2 was my favorite.
