Yes. I brought up that it should be changed directly to Lightnin, and poof! There it is!

What if a lot of people are reporting something to be stickied?

Now to change them in the tbg and rpg forums!

Re: Changes to Reporting of Posts

This seems a great improvement! However, what about if a group of trolls (imagine Anonymous) of 4 or more members who keep reporting posts - we're going to have a problem for moderators.

Probably not, because
A. They'd keep sending out red flags to the moderators (the reports)
B. They'd have to have been on for at least a month, and have been good while they were on
C. It would only be temporary, because people can be unbanned easily
D. They'd be banned quickly because we have good mods  big_smile

^This. It'd be very unlikely that the user wouldn't get unbanned quickly and the trolls get banned.

Re: Changes to Reporting of Posts

Ohhh, I just realised something. You can tell if a post's already been reported because the Report button will go back to grey again. So that ends the worries of people reporting the same thing.

Re: Changes to Reporting of Posts

What if several users reported a thread that is outdated and could be closed? Innocent scratchers could get temporarily blocked.

They've already stated it's extremely rare that a post gets more than four reports unless it's spam or trolling. Plus the Report button turns grey when the post's been reported anyway, so you'll be able to see, and therefore won't report it twice.

Does it really though? I thought it just turned gray while your mouse is over it.
I haven't noticed any of the reported posts having a gray button.

Hmm... neither have I. Someone report this to see if it's true, please (but don't if the Report button is gray!).

Re: Changes to Reporting of Posts

The way it seems to work is, it displays gray if you have reported it; not others.

Re: Changes to Reporting of Posts

You can just quote the post and see what the message was. And even though the simple answer is "don't quote it", it's hard not to. :I

So uh you may wanna fix that.
