Running out of ideas? Making sequels to Black and White means that they have more ideas.

I would have liked a return to ruby. (dunno where it is set. been through johto, kanto and beat N in unova)

On the actual topic, I'm actually looking forward to these games. They're actually fixing one of the main problems I had with the originals. You couldn't get previous gen Pokémon without going through some odd shooting minigame. (What is this? Pokémon Safari? The Time Capsule worked much better.) In case you don't know, they're increasing the Unova Pokédex to 300 Pokémon, with all of the new ones added being previous gen Pokémon.


And while I'm thankful that they're getting rid of Bianca and Cheren as rivals in place of a new one who actually looks like he has potential (and competency), I don't exactly like the new player characters. They're just...weird. The following pic is of, from center to right, the rival and the new player characters. Really? The player characters look like poorly imagined redrawings of the previous player characters with holes cut out from the top of their hats. They look like they're from the 60s. I'm being completely serious about that statement.


In regards to the plot, I'm pleased that Kyurem is getting some actual attention. A huge chunk of Unova is frozen over, the lake around the entrailink is dried up, there is a settlement of route 4, and a whole bunch of other stuff. Also, there are new gym leaders. The two revealed so far are a poison-centered musician and a somewhat tanned water-centered swimmer person. Also, there's this scientist who looks like an ex Team Plasma member clothing wise. He/She's basically researching the same stuff Professor Rowan was. Latent Pokémon abilities. Also, the obvious has been confirmed. The two unused moves from Black and White are to be the signature moves of Kyurem's forms.

PS: You start in a new town to the southwest of the main Unova landmass.

Sequel that is pretty much the same as the previous two games = "We ran out of ideas so we'll release the same pair of games with small differences and hope people buy it."

I have my reasons to like Gens 1 and 2 more than the others. Gen 3 is decent too, though I never really liked it, either. Maybe it's just a nostalgia thing (I grew on Gen 2-3, you're growing in the latest ones - makes sense), but from Gen 3 onwards it started getting pretty repetitive imo, and the Pokemon were each time less original, and memorable. Another thing I like, particularly about G1, is that you could easily know most Pokemon in the game, and that's just impossible if there are 650~ of them.

I knew the Pokemon series was dying but this is the final nail in the coffin.

Honestly, the game quality is the same through the whole main series, but the Gen we grew up with will always be the best in our heart. Why? Nostalgia.

You're all whining about nintendo being "UNORIGINAL" and stuff like that.
What you don't realize is that nintendo is only accounting for a new player in EVERY generation!
They're catering to the new players, not the longtime fans!
EVERY long running series does this.
Get over it.
They all follow the same system so that no other games are confusing to first-time players.
Now, it's pokemon for god's sake, just enjoy it.
