Re: Website for developing spriters ⇉ [POKÉMON SPRITERS WANTED]

And what if people could submit sprites? I can help handle the requests. But not on my own.

Aaand, I would like to apply as a splicer. I can do:

Pokemon
http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/2280/darknineon.png

http://img600.imageshack.us/img600/1543/sunnineon.png

Pokemorphs
Could only find one example and it's not the greatest. Sorry.
I can also do overworld pokemorphs, but I can't find any examples that I've made  hmm

The fusions look very good, but could you do a few more? Sorry, it's just that you're only using an Eeveelution, which are fairly similar in body type, and Ninetales', well, tails. How about you make me a fusion (splice, whatever XP) between an Arcanine and a Wortortle? You can choose whichever one is the base. If that's too difficult, just ask me and I'll give you another two Pokemon.  wink

Re: Website for developing spriters ⇉ [POKÉMON SPRITERS WANTED]

Announcement

Alright, so instead of debating with whoever shows up to fill in the spriter positions, I'm going to ask everyone who views this: what do you think would be a good name for this website? It needs a name that is relevant to spriting / the making or editing of sprites, not to mention the name must be appropriate for a six-year-old to view, and it may or may not have something to do with Pokemon.
I think that getting the opinions of several people on a name would be better than the opinions of only five or six people.
So, if you have any name ideas, please put 'em in a comment!

Sure. I can do that.

You could put it into catagories, like:
Splices
Fakemon
Reposes
Revamps
Trainers
Berries, Items and Pokeballs
Maps and Tiles
Customs

Etc

You people are spewing good ideas everywhere.  yikes
I think that'd be a great way to show new spriters what the end result would / should look like, as well as just showcase some of the work done by us fancy-shmancy spriters.

And as for the tutorials, that's fine. You can give me some sprites of yours, and I'll set up the tutorial. The credit for the sprites will go to you, credit for the tut itself will go to me. Sound fair?

Sounds great. Maybe I'll even have a go at a tutorial soon...

I think the website should be like this:
It would have the title at the top (obviously.)
Then it would have a bar with 3 tabs: Main Page, Tutorials and Gallery. (Also Forum when we make that part, and maybe Contact too)

The main page would have a couple paragraphs explaining what the website is and stuff. We should decorate it with sprites.
The tutorials section would have a long list (alphabetized) with links to people's tutorials. The tutorials should be images imho.
Then the gallery would have a bunch of buttons:
Splices
Fakemon
Reposes
Revamps
Trainers
Berries, Items and Pokeballs
Maps and Tiles
Customs
Animated Sprites
Fakedexes

Click the buttons to go to that gallery. Everyone's sprites in that category would be neatly organized. Maybe the sprite can be clicked on to lead to a page with info about the creator and the sprite? Also, we would have a sentence or two at the top explaining what type of sprite it is.

Maybe we could have you be able to click on peoples names and see all the tutorials and sprites they did...

That is just my proposition. Tell me what you think.
I'm working on some sprites now, plus I can sprite the gallery buttons.

Very organized and well-thought-out. I like it! In fact, would you like to be head of design? You'd be a huge help, as I have ADHD and couldn't plan to save my life. XP

I can help with little button graphics and other sorts of things. Do you know who is programming it? Are you going to use a website builder? Or is it going to be from scratch, because I like to program websites. Especially ones with buttons!

I'm not so good at HTML and stuff... I certainly can be the head of design if it merely means I just design the pages- but I'm no good at setting up websites. My friend MrMokey would be a better candidate for website making.
I'll do all the tabs, buttons and the logo however  smile
And of course tons and tons of sprites... I'd love to be the head of spriting... >:3

Don't worry at all about actually building the website. I'll be doing that. No, I need your design talents, your ideas about the layout. You may be a co-leader of spriting, or, more likely, we'll both be co-leaders to each other. ;D
Sound like a plan?

Yes, indeed. I do know some HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as mentioned above, if need be, but I guess I'll leave that up to you when the time comes.
Does this mean that you want to join up? I did see your "hidden message". :3

Ugh. I was just about to post a whole bunch of sprites when all the text got deleted.
I don't feel like copying and pasting the urls of 30 images again.

Thirty? No, I'd think that anywhere from five to ten is fine. Not for each form of spriting, just altogether.

Hey, just wondering... but what does it mean to be "Collab Counselor"? I mean, I know what the words mean, but what do you do?

It means we give constructive criticism and suggestions to people during Collab Camp.

It was originally planned for Pokemon spriters only, but by the suggestion of Dinoclor I will be adding a "Miscellaneous" section to the website, complete with a forum of its own, if possible.
