What are Trolls?

Trolls are bad internet people who come around storming on the internet. But, here is a more specific example of what they do.

Trolls
Trolls want to get attention, they want to see how people will react. A lot of things happened on the scratch website, just so they would stop trolls. For example: the img tags were disabled, the new scratcher rank was put in, and a whole bunch of other things.


How to smell a troll
Some people want to know how to detect a regular user who is mad, between a troll. Well, first look at the number of posts they have. If it says 1, then it might be a troll, if it says 1000, it might not be a troll.

Also, some trolls usually post everything in caps, so people will notice them. Though some trolls post stuff like normal, so scratchers can't detect if it is a troll.


What they do
Trolls post messages, or images showing or saying bad stuff. Most messages they post are like this:

"SCRATCH IS THE WORST"


What to do about them
Just hit the report button on the bottom of every post. Then the scratch team will take it from there. Also, take a look at Bopitman99 post: ITopic: Don't Feed The Trolls - A handy guide to dealing with trolls

I think defining trolls/trolling is important on Scratch, especially because of the disproportionate number of children on Scratch (I know, that sounded condescending, as if I'm not a child  tongue ).

I think for posts that are guides that are posted in Questions about scratch, should have a [Guide] next to the title. Such as "[Guide] What are trolls?" So people don't get confused that it's a question, like I did.  tongue

They're not trolls, they're more like novelty accounts. It's a bunch of people (maybe just one) with some word and then Toast in their name.
