Well, congrats to the three winners. They're all great Scratchers who I'm sure will do a wonderful job. It's a little bit soul-crushing to fail a second time, but I guess that's just how life is gonna go for me.
But before the next election, whenever that may be, I'd like to improve myself in order to be a better candidate next time around. What would you guys like to see me change? You can be honest, I'm really receptive to constructive criticism. You need to be more active. I'm somewhat new, (4 months) but I've never heard of you before the election. Even so, you were a fantastic candidate and the reason you didn't win was probably because there were so many good candidates.
What are you talking about? He's been on for almost 4 years, and he is very active.

Not on the forums. I had never really heard of him before the election.

I've been around, just not as much as I could/would/should be. I don't post as much as I probably should, in part because of what was being discussed a few pages back where a question I'd know the answer to had already been answered 5 times over. But the fact that three people have said they had no clue who I was before the elections means to me that I really wasn't around enough.
I'm relatively sure the fact that I hadn't been around enough lately killed me in this election, and I'm really going to put in the effort to be around more often before the next one, whenever it may be.

That's cool but that doesn't really affect someone's ability to moderate?
It's just cool. Besides, it also shows that those candidates can handle responsibility.
And two of the candidates are SDS curators.
Hey, they overlap! <--
Including you.

That's honestly surprising, given your helpful contributions to the community, which is why I voted for you and Sparks

Well thanks, maybe it's just the disappointment after coming up short the last two times. But looking back, I really think I should've been around more. Next time though, next time...

Awh - don't say that! I know that you'd be a great moderator, and you've been pretty active on here from what I've seen

I think Scratch can do what I've been trying to do forever IRL, have an election where people vote on who they think the best new mod would be, not on popularity.

Thats kind of what I based my vote on.

You seem like you would be a great moderator: I just wasn't sure who you were before the election, so I didn't want to rate you high. If you're more active before the next election, you'll be for sure one of my top choices.

How would you implement an election in which popularity doesn't play a part?

Yeah, I'm the guy who overlapped. Hmm, the 3 I mentioned won. Interesting.

Correct. Part of campaigning is winning the support of users. Being popular for being helpful and active, and good for a mod.

You thought you could see moderators forum posts through the post count button on posts back then.

I don't see how that's relevant.
