When it's volunteering, not hiring. but yes they want 2 or 3 more moderators.
No, no. I meant "Will they hire two or three mods?"

Oh sorry I didn't get it. I don't know.

For me, it ultimately becomes a question of: will I be able to help the community any more as a moderator than I am now. The answer is: yes, but not that much more. Still debating it though.
Oh boy, I'm committed now!
@RedRocker227: I seriously thought you were at least 14 or 15. Interesting, the misconceptions that the Internet brings (or perhaps reality is the misconception! )

And uh sometimes I can be kinda (really) aggressive and rude. It's funny, P2S mentioned that you seemed to think we didn't like you during a conversation we had yesterday, and we were like, why wouldn't we?
Nobody's perfect, and we don't expect perfection from anyone. Good faith and a little empathy for others will do.
Oh, well that's good I guess, thought TBH I wouldn't blame you if you were at least annoyed at me.
Lol, it feels weird knowing people in a different continent are talking about me ^^'

I think too many of the nominees are talking about correcting grammar and spelling.
I find that both obnoxious and a complete waste of time. I think they should focus more on spam and helping Scratchers, and less on correcting posts.
It also irks me that a few of the candidates have a less than adequate number of posts. This could cause problems in the future, as they would be less experienced with the way the "forum dwellers" handle themselves, as well a largely self patrolling and correcting. It is also true many on the forums have an abrasive and/or highly opinionated personality, of which I myself and guilty of. I personally don't want to see this classified as trolling or inappropriate behavior.
I also am a firm believer in a more lax style of moderation, eg quietly patrolling the topic before labeling it as fit for the virtual trash compactor. I am concerned that a majority of these people are going to have a hard time understanding of how things work here.
I personally trust that Skyline and Gettysburg are perfectly capable, and have been incredibly helpful around the forums. It's only when I see Scratchers with less than 500 posts that I become worried.
I also notice a sorry lack of people pledging to moderate the Misc-esque (MaC and RaP) forums subsections. although helping new Scratchers IS incredibly important, there IS a reason the position has MODERATE in the title.
In no way do I mean to discredit ANY of these people, but I believe that a MORE than basic knowledge is NECESSARY to be chosen. The forums are a MUCH different place than the main site, and I don't want people treating the forums like they are the same.

It probably depends on the turnout of nominees and voting.

I definitely agree with what you're saying. I'd like a moderator who is an active and helpful person that takes part in discussions like regular members do, and is able to step in when things get too far.

So far, I do think either he or LS97 is the best of the candidates.

Yeah, I haven't really either. He does seem like a pretty good candidate as well though.

That is possible. Someone who goes on the main site a lot would be good, and it's obvious the Scratch Team trusts him and he's a helpful experienced member of the community by his Collab Counselor rank.

Will the elections be a one choice thing, or will it be putting the candidates in order?

Wow, it's awesome to see a lot of support for me on here. Thanks everybody!

The election system uses radio buttons that allow you to rank them in order.
Here is what it looked like last time.

I'd figure that would be fake!
I'm not sure if it's actually possible to vote like that for moderator elections.

I'm not sure if I should run or not. Some people say I'm helpful on Scratch, but I don't post *that* much on the forums (well, it varies). I already have plenty of work to do on the Scratch Wiki, as I am a bureaucrat. I'm somewhat well-known, and I've gotten quite a few front paged projects. But I have my doubts whether I would win or not. After all, there are plenty of ways I can still help the community without necessarily being a moderator. I'll have to think about it...
I respect your choice, whether it be to wait or to nominate yourself. However, I do think you are ready for the responsibility and commitment based on what I've seen. You seem like a very helpful, kind guy/gal. I think you would make a great candidate.
Too true
