I watched 2 minutes of the first episode. Then I said "I'm going to youtube to watch some Minecraft".

I SO want to watch all the episodes I haven't seen yet as quickly as possible, but that would ruin the fun for me. I'll have to take things slowly. If I watch too many episodes, I'll become entirely dependent on waiting impatiently for new ones.
I got into the show just as the first season was ending, so I watched pretty much the entire season in a single weekend and then had to go all summer without any new episodes. I finally ended up reading fanfiction to make up for it, and of course now I'm hooked on that too.
Yeah, I first went and watched about 30 episodes in one weekend and then waited impatiently every week for a new one. Except I don't really read fanfiction because reading on a computer gives me a headache (I am a wimp).

I read Cupcakes before I started watching the show, but it didn't really scare me. Although it did give me a feeling of sympathy for Rainbow Dash. Maybe it didn't scare me because of a lack of creepy pictures.
Anyway, I used to hate the show and I always stayed away from it. One time, for a brief moment I saw the show on someone else's TV. But I didn't see anything that would cause me to watch the show; just Rainbow Dash being pushy. I don't know which episode it was.
Anyway, later I joined the Scratch Forums, and I noticed that a lot of Scratchers had ponies in their signatures (mostly Rainbow Dash, of course). I just shrugged it off and thought of it as a passing fad. When I saw the word "brony" mentioned in several places I, naturally, was reminded of brownies.
But ponies started showing up more and more often, and there seemed to be no end. Eventually my younger brother joined a 3DS forum, and the "journalist" of the forum greeted him by posting a video of Pinkie Pie's Welcome Song. It was adorable. Not to mention the admin of the forum had Fluttershy as his avatar.
That's what led me to decide, "Wow, this show must be pretty good if there's so many fans." So I decided to watch an episode, thinking "If you can't beat them, join them."
The first episode I watched was "Putting Your Hoof Down". It probably wasn't the BEST first episode to watch, but I was using On Demand and it was one of the only available episodes. But, it was good enough. I especially liked how Pinkie Pie often referred to herself as "Old Pinkie Pie". So I watched all the other available episodes, and the transformation was complete. That's when I became a brony.
I've changed a bit since then. For example, I care even less about self-image than before. I learned that I truly don't care what everyone else thinks of me, that I should just be myself and stick up for what I think is right. As a result my self-esteem has recieved a major boost as well.
I still find it ironic, though, that my new favorite TV show is targeted toward little girls and is based on a toy franchise I used to make fun of.
I'm still working up the courage to tell my dad that I'm a brony. I have a feeling that if I do, he'll start asking me if I like Dora and Blue's Clues now too.
I'm also still working on transforming my younger brother into a brony. He watches the show too, but the kid just won't admit it.
He does like to say that he's a unicorn with wings (similar to Celestia), though.

Are you kidding?! Putting Your Hoof Down was one of the best episodes ever!
Assertive Flutters eps are always awesome! The part in Dragon Quest where Fluttershy trounced Dash was hilarious!

Yeah, the episode was still good regardless, but if I had the chance I probably would have watched "The Mare in the Moon Part 1" first. It's still my favorite episode so far.

I watched "Suited for Success" first. Always have been my favourite
Especially the many appearances of derpy. I think there's 5+ appearances where it shows her, doesn't and shows her again later. There's a lot of derpy, that's for sure.

Derpy Hooves is the chosen one. Lauren Faust had better make an episode dedicated to Derpy someday (Hopefully in season 3). "The Last Roundup" wasn't enough for me.

I'd imagine that the episodes in Season 2 tend to be better if you're already a brony when watching them, because they contain a lot of references to other jokes in the show and play a lot on the already-established personalities of the characters.
And good for you, Sausagefanclub. I've found that the show has caused me to open up a lot to new things as well, and I think that's true of a lot of bronies. Welcome to the herd. ^_^

I've been thinking about adding some pony references to my upcoming "World of Weird I: Fusion" project. Although I don't know where I would put them...
