Things that I agree with! 

The horse is more peaceful and non-violent. Little kids won't take it as violent any more. Even though I don't really see a cat as violent. The new version will be better because it will be updated. The pony still looks a little like the cat.

Things I don't agree with! 

Think about boys who will be playing this. I really don't think they want to be playing games about ponies. It will seem too feminine. The new name doesn't fit. NEIGH game creator just sounds plain weird too.

Will the name of this website be changed to NEIGH.mit.edu? I will forget that name. I've been playing SCRATCH longer.

Overall, I think that maybe the mascot just doesn't fit. If you want to make it more gender oriented, why not make it like a puppy?

I hope you guys can make a good decision to benefit the whole SCRATCH community.

Well, when the ST and CM's were brainstorming April Fools ideas, one of the ideas that came up was to replace the Scratch Cat with a pony. What ended up happening was that the mascot design came first, and then the idea of the name change came second. Hurray for discontinuity!
