Rubik's Cube

Discuss all things Rubik's Cube here! I recently solved it using a book, and I am currently memorizing the steps.

Re: Rubik's Cube

It took me about half a year to solve it the first time, but now I can do it in less than two minutes nearly every time :3

My best is 53.2 seconds :p

Re: Rubik's Cube

My best time was 43 seconds, but that was a fluke really.  At my best I was averaging in the upper 50s.

I usually get one side done, and then I'm like: "How is this even possible?"

It's not if you try and do one side at a time, since you'll eventually have to mess it up. You need to do it in layers.  smile

Or in rectangular prisms
- 1x1x2
- 1x2x2
- 2x2x2
- 2x2x3
- 2x3x3

The last layer is the biggest obstacle.  Pretty much impossible without algorithms  hmm

I can do one side. I tried everything I could find to help me solve it, but even the Rubiks website doesn't help.

Doing them speedily doesn't really impress me because you're just memorizing a pattern to do.

Re: Rubik's Cube

Ah, the cube. Trillions of combinations, only one of them correct. I did it once with the aid of a convenient instruction manual given with the cube. However, I did it in 0.5 sec. but that was because only one row was moved!  tongue  And soupoftomato, the world record holder did it withought even being the one who messed it up.
