Will do! My brother broke my mic, so I'm gonna have to stick with recording stuff on my tablet. Was the quality of the sound all right? I know the songs much better now, but was the recording too fuzzy or anything? I could try recording it on the built-in mic on my computer but I'm not sure if it will be much better.

Lol, I've been practising all morning and driving my brother mad!  tongue

Quality was good.  smile

THANK GOODNESS! I will go re-record it then! I will have it uploaded as soon as I have it done!  smile

So are you using me in the songs then? And who is the lead singer you already have, or 'chosen one' as I call it?

Sorry. Loads of questions. I'm a very inquisitive person.  big_smile

Here we go!

Reload
My Voice to You
When I'm Beside You

If you need me to record any of these over again, I will do so.  smile

*Edit*
NOOO!!! For some reason it cut me off in both Reload and My Voice to You!
I'm gonna have to record it again!

It only cut like a second off When I'm beside you, and there was no singing there anyway. I have no idea why it's doing this!

Do you want me to do them again? If so, which ones? I don't mind if you want me to record them again, but I will have to wait a while as I don't want to annoy my family any further this morning xD

So I can re-record these later basically.  smile

Your voice is good. Just make sure you rerecord that soon. Please could you upload by today?  smile

I need it soon. The album is gonna be released soon and you stand a chance to be vocalist if you do so quickly. After you record, save the sound clips, so that if anything gets cut when uploading, you can e-mail the tracks.

I'd appreciate it if you could record all three again, though these are good. Well done!  big_smile

I can't do it today I don't think. I'll try though.

Thanks anyway! I'm glad you think they're good! I would go re-record right now, but a couple of people just came in to collect their photos that my dad took for them a while back. And I have no idea who they are. And my bedroom is right above where they are, and that's the only place I can record peacefully. I could try my brother's room, but if he walks in and finds me, I'm doomed. So I have to wait until these people go. Shouldn't be long now.  smile

I don't think it was the uploading was the problem. See, I have to record everything on my tablet and email it to myself, go onto the laptop, download them, and upload them to SoundCloud. So I checked the recording on my tablet, and saw that it was cutting it off there too. So maybe it's the tablets fault? I'll try and fix it.

YES! THE PEOPLE HAVE LEFT! Right, I'm away to record them now!

Good, have you finished recording? It's strange that your tablet should have a fault. Hopefully it'll work now. Please upload it very soon.

My Voice to You
When I'm Beside You
And I have yet to upload Reload. I will get it up soon, but it hasn't come through in my emails yet.

Okay, so I've recorded them all and got a good go at each one. What I need to know is, if they get cut off in a place, can you take that part from a different recording and put it in? It's in My Voice to You, I think. I would record the whole thing again, but I've sung it so much my throat is killing me. I should be okay later, so can record it then, but I don't know if I will be able to upload it then.

It's at 02:26 on My Voice to You. I have NO idea why it stops, but it picks up again at 02:29. So it's only like 3 seconds. I would fix it myself, but I don't have a music editing program, and I assume you do.

I'm so sorry about this.  sad

Anyway, the other two are FINE and I'm pretty happy with myself in them, so happy days!  smile

I just listened to them! They are awesome!!!  big_smile

I love your unique style! If you don't mind, could you re-record the last bits of My Voice to You (that's from the place it gets cut onwards).

Also, you can now record the backing vocals for My Voice to You. You seem to struggle with the end of When I'm Beside You, so could you record the last phrase as well? That'll be helpful.

Could you please upload Reload too very soon? I hope to get the album out this week due to your swift progress. I'll need time to mix too, so if I have it by today, that'll be easy for me.  smile

BTW, I'm the manager and mixer for FC so I have many audio programs (Audacity, Reaper, FL Studio, GarageBand & SoundBooth).

Yeah, I will record that part of When I'm Beside You too.

Here's Reload ->  http://soundcloud.com/candlii/reload-1

Also, the backing vocals seem to be VERY low for My Voice to You, but I'll try it. If I can't get it though, would you mind much if I just tried to make up a little backing for it? I should be okay with the one you have, but just in case?  hmm

If you're good at harmonising, it should be OK. Maybe sing at the same pitch that the main vocals are in? Ignore the different octaves. It may help for you to listen to my project that you commented on (with the original singer's voice). Please rerecord the small bit of My Voice to You too.

Reload is brilliant! I like it a lot! Perfect job there, so now you need to just need to do what I mentioned before. I'm proud to say, if you succeed in pulling off this one last step, you will be in the band.

Congratulations!  big_smile

Phew. I can harmonize naturally (according to my mum anyway, and she's BIG into harmonising) so this shouldn't be a problem! I have to use my tablet right now, and it doesn't let me go to that site with the notes on it and stuff. Is it okay if my harmony kind of is higher pitched in places and slightly lower in others? It won't be MUCH lower or higher though.

YAAAAAAY!!!  big_smile  Thank you SO much!

In the last chorus for the harmony, I couldn't make out what was being said when I listened to the recording, so I just aah-ed along.

Alright. Please try to send now.  smile

Here we go! I did my best.

In the last chorus for the harmony, I couldn't make out what was being said when I listened to the recording, so I just aah-ed along.

Alright, I'll check them and get back to you.

Re: -'Frozen Coco' Needs A Female Singer-

Hey, that version of the cover art you posted looks awesome, LolaRose. Something like that now future singles would be great. When I made the cover art I wasn't really sure of the style I wanted (so I just went for a generic drawing), but your drawing style is definitely fitting.  smile

As for the singing, you're pretty good singing in pitch, but like most other auditions I've heard so far, your voice is a bit too quiet, as if you were unsure about your singing or didn't want someone to hear you.  hmm  If you could improve just that (and maybe try to reduce the popping in the recording), you'd make a good singer for the band.  smile

Well, I'm not sure who you are exactly x3 but currently DIY has said that I stand a really good chance of being in the band.  smile

Well, I gotta go now anyway. Thanks for the advice, but there is nothing I can do about the popping noise. That's just the mic.  big_smile

Okay, so all truth be told, I haven't told anybody about me doing this, because I'm not sure what they would think. So i sound quite quiet because I try to do it without anyone hearing me. I don't like family or close friends hearing me sing, but I have no idea why. Just a weird habit of mine to never let them hear me sing. I have sung solos and stuff before at church and stuff, so obviously they hear me then, but I can't see them. I'd much rather sing to a complete stranger or someone who i had never met face-to-face before. That's why I'll sing for you guys.I've never met you in person so am not embarrassed.

When school starts back, I will have less time to record, but when I get time, I can do it more freely, because my mum and dad will be at work and my granny will be in her own house (joint to ours, the playroom connects both houses) and my brother will be either in th playroom or in his own room likely. And TBH I don't mind so much if my brother hears me, because he will just look at me weird then walk away without asking anything.  smile

Wow, I went into a lot of details, there, but I just wanted you to know all this stuff, Kay?

That's exactly why I don't sing that much either, I don't really like people hearing me. But for me it's anyone and not just family, haha. Today my parents went out for a while and I managed to record some quick vocals in that time.  tongue

Believe it or not, I'm very shy in real life! When writing or texting though I tend to be more open. So yah, I'm actually shy which is also why I sing quite quietly!

I'm quite shocked at the fact that quite a lot of people can't read notes, yet can play/sing so well!

Also, I'm glad someone else is like that, not wanting people to hear them sing. It comforts me, strangely.  big_smile

This is the auditions forum you know.  tongue

I'm mixing the tracks right now, but the one thing that stands out is the background interference in your recordings. I guess I'll have to find a solution, seeing that the band has no more time to lose.

Yeah, realised that after I posted.  tongue  lol I'm so stupid.

Yeah, that was always gonna be a problem. If I could, I would buy myself a mic, but I'm gonna have to wait until my birthday or something to get one (my birthday's in august). When i speak stuff into this, it comes out nice and clear, but for some reason it hates me singing.

Also, I CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR IT ALL TOGETHER!!!

Nor can I wait to hear the final result! I have the master tracks (the tracks sans vocals), so I can listen to them anytime. I benefit from being mixer.  tongue

I'll anyway try to work on the recordings you gave me and pass them through some filters. SC4 may work out.
