Valid, I've been thinking about them almost nonstop since I read them (tuesday) because they were so EPIC!!! Lol don't mean to make you feel bad though.![]()
Lolol that's alright
According to the library brochure, you can win a "Cornucopia" or something at the event and whatnot
Looks fun
Too bad I can't read them![]()
(Well like, I've read most of the first one, but since I shouldn't've, then my mom would say I have no reason for going)Why can't you read them? I'm only eleven and I'm allowed to read them....
A lot of reasons with really flawed logic, but basically because my sister says they're "not for my age"

I want to see it! I'm so excited, but it probably wouldn't be as good as the books though.
Offline
I'm not allowed to watch it, but I read all of the books.
I didn't even want to, honestly.
Offline
I'm seeing the movie!!!..... A day or so after it comes out though -.- I hope it's similar to the books. And aparently, the Cornucopia is silver instead of gold.

Three hours until theaters in EST.
Lol I'll have to wait until later tomorrow though

Me: "But it's not fair that she's going to see the movie right before my birthday without me and the book isn't even that disturbing from what I've read--uh--heard *cough*. In fact, whatever, let her see the movie without me, just let me read the books that is what I care about anyway."
Mom: "Yeah well your sister is ten years older than you and blah."
Me: "Yeah well my sister has not allowed me to read Face on the Milk Carton either, which she read in seventh grade."
Sister: "I read that in high school!"
Me: "You said seventh grade actually."
Sister: "...Eighth grade."
Me: "Seventh grade."
Sister: "Fine seventh grade, but I shouldn't've."
Me: "Wow just wow."
Mom: "Anyway, she's older than you so..." *as if this were now settled*
Me: "I know people who are seeing the movie at midnight!"
Mom: "Name five!"
Me: *names like, eight*
Mom: "I don't know these people."
Me: "So?! You know -So and so-."
Mom: "Oh yeah. How is -So and so-?"
Me: "Don't change the subject!"
Mom: ...
Me: "So can I."
Mom: "No, the movie is on a school night."
Me: "You forget that I just want to read the books, not see the movie if it's that much of a horrible thing to ask."
Mom: "Let me talk to your sister."
Me: *facepalm*
...it went on like this for a while
That's not fair. It's a good book.

im not trying to hate on Hunger games and i never read it, but usually, movies based on books arent that good id learned that from Lightnint Thief. I think i will purposely avoid reading Hunger Games just so i can 'stand out'

So it comes out tomorrow?
Cool.
I'm not going to see it though.

I'm likely gonna see the movie on Saturday... unless my dad has "other plans".
Oh, yeah...
Y'know, I'll bet that the mutts from near the end of the book won't have tails in the movie (much to my dismay), just to make them look like cheesy werewolves from those old movies (which, in my opinion, look like more like big gorillas than wolves).

Ah, but this one is being organised by the author, Suzanne Collins. She even wrote the script. This means it will be pretty similar to the books.

Very. If they screw up the rest of the series, I will be a sad camper

It's not so bad. My younger brother is reading it in his reading groups, and me and my siblings have joined a teen reading club where we read it.

My mom's new bright idea is that she'll preread it
...Right, she has no idea the violence of other stuff I've read (Lord of the Flies is probably worse than this), so she'll veto it for sure
Siiigh

Saw the movie, it was epic!
Edit: 99th reply on the topic
They did a pretty good job on cutting mostly unnecessary parts, but they could have done a bit more backstory in the beginning like in the books.
